About Le Apples [ Apples/Aaron Apples ]
Never afraid to go too deep, his emotive musical selections are his own therapy. Having grown up on many family members eclectic combination heavily in alternative, 80s, rock, post-punk, new wave, disco, funk, house and so forth many other genres in all which became infused with his own love for music/making people danse. Apples ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influence to say the least. It all started with having begun his musical journey career with a punk [ Los Angeles street punk ] band right after graduating high school in 2004. Then after being in many other bands/projets after within genres such as indie, screamo, dance-punk, alternative, electro, post-hardcore, hard style and metal. After years of trying to make conflicting schedules work in many bands with many other band members, Apples stopped what cannot be forced such as non reciprocating dedication or love for making and playing music live to share for people to enjoy. In 2007 after many friends and people who met Apples that heard his broad and diverse range of music influences from his playlist on his iPod, iPod nano, phone, CDs or cassettes they started suggesting him to become a DJ. After deliberation Apples realized it was similar to a one-man band essentially and wouldn't have the issue for lack of commitment and dived head first into the new chapter of his music career. He started his first gig with the Numark iDJ Apple iPod/MP3 DJ mixer mixing Console on Halloween of 2007 with an infamous lot party in Los Angeles that was jam packed as they were heavily popular in those days and became an instant popular requested top DJ within the "Blog Haus" scene. The quick explanation of how he got his DJ/nickname simply came from his myspace moniker being "Le Apples" at the time. Coined by fans since he never chose a DJ name for himself. The "Blog Haus" scene consisted of connecting and combining a ridiculous amount of many genres that were popular in all prior party, dance, club scenes, but emphasis on electro-house, dark wave, indie and dance-punk. After DJing everywhere for many years for popular clubs, house parties, lot parties, warehouse parties and more from Los Angeles to Inland Empire and everywhere else in-between, near, far and even out of state. As any person changes passions in any aspect within their life Apples was no different for his DJ forte. In 2015 every genre stated prior and more is still a passion even to this day to DJ or just casually listen and enjoy for Apples, but his specialty shifted as his love for dark tunes of all became too much to ignore and started once again another chapter within his music career and began to spin within the "goth" scene. After spinning for some time he became obsessed within all new and old genres in the dark scene and quickly wanted to contribute to the scene and sub-culture to keep it alive as others prior have done for everyone to discover and fall in love with as he did and he wanted to continue this tradition to do the same for anyone/everyone. So shortly after falling in love with the sub-culture so much he began contributing by throwing his first party [ klub ] in 2015 called "Coven Bar" and then his second in 2017 called "Tech Noir" both near the surrounding Los Angeles area. As the band commitment issue always seemed to float around Apples the partners for clubs also became an issue, so needless to say both parties did not continue long after. So for two years as the pattern seemed to follow Apples contributed to solely focusing on just DJing within the scene far and wide for other until 2019 when he wanted to try one more time to contribute to the scene and keeping it alive by doing his first solo party "Danse Macabre" and once again avoid lack of devotion/sentiment from others he chose to work with on this dream and inspiration. Since then until current day today he has been combining all genres within the goth community new and old bands consistently in many cities, but primarily Inland Empire to Los Angeles. Today, even adding a collaboration with Mentalize Productions for another contributing party "Cathedral" every Saturday at Bricks Rock Bar in Los Angeles/Maywood. As far as Apples DJing style goes anyone can quickly tell for his love for music and how it translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best: dark synth work, ethereal backdrops, brooding danse basslines, and occasional vocal hooks…all on top of a pronounced undeniable foot, body moving beats.A very active member of his local community, Apples is no stranger to the ups-and-downs of a small-town music scene. Though he loves playing in nightclubs, warehouses, house parties and special events, his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing tunes. As a guitarist, producer, event coordinator, and promoter, he has found plenty of ways to express himself musically.
“It’s all about mood and a deep, hypnotic groove… playing those tracks that get you tapping your feet and nodding your head without you realizing it, regardless of genre, tempo, style, or release date.“
"Having shown an affinity for music from a very young age, Le Apples has been fine-tuning his DJ skills with a unique repertoire of mixes, music elements and playlists. With influences ranging from 80s to indie, punk, hip hop, house and so much more this is one DJ who isn’t afraid to innovate and try something new and you can definitely hear it in the way he mixes from other DJs."
“Purveyor of deep, infectious danse tunes whether familiar or not and vast love for music of all genres that'll show.”
